Effective July 28, 2021 the District requires all employees to wear masks in all indoor common spaces regardless of vaccination status. This is due to the DELTA Variant of COVID-19 and Orange County being identified to be at High Risk for transmissibility of this strain of the virus.
The District is not requiring employees to wear masks outdoors if they are fully vaccinated. If unvaccinated, not fully vaccinated or at risk due to health issues, employees are encouraged to wear masks outdoors if unable to physically distance from others.
All employees (regardless of vaccination status) must have a mask available to wear when encountering any member of the public.
Although the vehicle barn has large doors on either side, for purposes of mask wearing, we are considering this area to be an indoor space and therefore employees must wear a mask regardless of vaccination status.
Department conference rooms and the Boardroom are open but capacity should be limited to an amount where six feet of physical distance can be maintained.
The District realizes that there may be hesitation from staff who do not feel comfortable being in a group setting. If you feel uncomfortable or hesitant, let the meeting organizer or HR know and we will arrange for an alternate means for you to participate in the meeting or receive the information covered.
The District is still permitting fully vaccinated employees to be paired in vehicles when necessary. All pairings must be cleared through Human Resources and both parties must wear masks when in the vehicle.
The symptoms of the DELTA variant of COVID-19 remain the same as other strains of the virus. Some symptoms to look out for are:
  • Fever or chills
  • Cough or Congestion/Runny Nose (not due to allergies)
  • Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
  • Fatigue / Muscle or Body Aches
  • Headache
  • New loss of taste or smell
  • Nausea / Vomiting / Diarrhea
Yes, you may still contract COVID-19. According to the CDC, the vaccines aren't 100 percent effective against the virus, so there can be a small number of vaccinated people who will test positive. The vaccine doesn't necessarily protect against getting an infection, but it does protect against serious illness and hospitalization from COVID-19.
If you are experiencing symptoms, please contact Human Resources. HR will ask questions to help determine your risk factors and the need for testing and/or quarantine.
